What
we do:
SAFSF seeks
to highlight these issues and to carry out its mission by working with
its members and others to strengthen and diversify the sustainable agriculture
and food systems grantmaking community, provide new and expanded programming,
and to keep funders well-versed in the critical issues of the day. SAFSF
also works to help increase support and funding for organizations that
(i) promote sustainable food production; (ii) link to concerns about
sustainability of our food system; and/or (iii) connect food production
with issues of environmental stewardship, diet and health, and viability
of rural communities.
On-going
SAFSF activities include regular funder education conference calls,
an annual 2-3 day national Forum, workshops and sessions at various
funder conferences including the Environmental Grantmakers Association
annual retreat, The Funders' Network on Smart Growth and Livable Communities
and others.
