This virtual meeting will feature a discussion about the new book Beyond the Kale: Urban Agriculture and Social Justice Activism in New York City. Join the discussion with author and researcher Nevin Cohen, assistant professor of environmental studies at The New School. We will also be joined Raymond Figueroa-Reyes, executive director of Friends of Brook Park and chair of the New York City Community Gardening Coalition who can speak to how (and whether) urban agriculture contributes to the creation of just and sustainable cities. We look forward to hearing your opinions on this important topic. This is a critically important discussion as urban agriculture continues to receive attention and funders receive more proposals for projects with social justice goals.
