SAFSF launches new Special Project on Sustainable Fibers and Textiles

SAFSF is excited to announce its new
Special Project on Sustainable Fibers and Textiles

We are excited to announce the launch of SAFSF’s new Special Project on Sustainable Fibers and Textiles. Over the past 6 years, SAFSF has played a leading role in the development of funder interest and information-sharing in the area of sustainable fibers and textiles, with program offerings including webinars, Forum workshops and a funder in-depth session, and a white paper on this topic.

The first step in this new initiative will be the development of a “Textiles Roadmap” that will serve interested U.S. funders and impact investors. This interview-driven research project will result in a 5-7 year vision for values-based investment and funding needed to support regenerative fiber agriculture and revitalize regional textile processing and manufacturing.

The Roadmap is led by project team Sarah Kelley, Jenny O’Connor, and Calla Rose Ostrander and guided by an Advisory Committee of experts in investing, grantmaking, and the textile industry.

For more information and to stay involved, see the Textiles Roadmap Executive Summary, visit the SAFSF Fibers Special Project webpage at safsf.org/fibers, or contact Sarah Kelley at fibers@safsf.org.
