Regional Food Infrastructure Study Group – Webinar
Regional Food Infrastructure Study Group Webinar
Thursday, May 8
10 am PT / 11 am MT / 12 pm CT / 1 pm ET
A growing number of food hubs and other regional food businesses/organizations are seeing a growing demand for what they offer. With success and growth comes decisions about choosing infrastructure investments. For example when does a hub or other food business buy a delivery truck or are the better off leasing; how much cold storage should they invest in; at what point do they tool up for new markets.
As regional food systems funders we are increasingly being asked to support infrastructure investments, but how do we evaluate such requests? What information do we need from grantees to show that they have done their homework and are making a wise decision?
This Regional Food Infrastructure study group call will be a peer discussion to talk through our experiences and knowledge on this pressing topic. Kate Danaher from RSF will kick off the discussion with some thoughts on their framework for assessing how to proceed on filling infrastructure gaps and and how they make these assessments for potential loans from their PRI fund.
