Reaching Resilience: Food & Farming in the Upper Midwest
Fresh Taste and Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems Funders are pleased to announce Reaching Resilience: Food and Farming in the Upper Midwest, a funders-only conference occurring April 9-10, 2014 at the Blackstone Renaissance Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. We are coming together because we recognize that the Upper Midwest is one of the most diverse and abundant food-producing regions in the world, with good soil, plentiful water, experienced farmers, and innovative enterprises. And yet. . . 50% of US farmers are likely to retire in the next ten years, and the Upper Midwest is not spared from these national trends. Devastating climate impacts – droughts, floods, extreme cold, to name a few – are hitting home.Securing our future food supply is more critical than ever.
Join us! Through workshops, learning journeys and plenaries, this conference will explore how the Upper Midwest can produce high quality food for generations to come, and what role funders can play.Click here to learn more about Reaching Resilience. Click here to register.
Please feel free to share this invitation with other interested funders as well. We hope to see you in early April!
