Healthy Food - Healthy Communities

Some twenty-five individuals from across the US gathered in Maine for this first-ever meeting of sustainable agriculture and health funders co-sponsored by SAFSF and Grantmakers In Health. The purpose of this meeting was to learn about funder initiatives working at this intersection; to find out about policy work affecting both the ag/food systems and health realms - including the 2007 Farm Bill; and to begin to explore areas of opportunity for increased funder involvement. If you are a funder and interested in learning more about this meeting and possible follow-up events, please contact Virginia Clarke-Laskin vclarke@safsf.org.
